love the things you do

you say you don’t want to do what you’ve always done, i’m just not sure that allows much space for you to choose something different.

how will you know how to do something differently if you don’t know what that thing is, you know, you’re human and you like to know.

I guess the only way you can is by embracing the way you do what you do, the way it’s repetitive, the way it’s given you purpose, and meaning, and a sense of connection, and safety, and control.

the way it’s become a place of intimacy, of escape, of seeing yourself, of knowing yourself, of being able to take another step forward.

maybe you start here, by embracing, and then you allow space, even if it’s just for a moment, to not act, to not do, to not try, to not intellectualise, to not become, to not fix, to not change, and see what comes from that place.

you’ll be surprised what blooms, it’s pretty special, the way the body has only ever wanted space to exist, to be accepted, the way it only wants harmony, and when we give it a little room to undo, to digest, to breathe, what it can make of us.

you know the body breathes for you, maybe you could breathe for her too, maybe you could let yourself be, if only for a moment, and see how a different coloured path can present itself to you, and maybe you’ll feel more willing to choose a new way, a way that is more nourishing for this beautiful version of you.
